Professional Team

Board Certified Internist
Our Board Certified Internist evaluates a patient’s ability to safely participate in OXYGYM’s program, and manages his/her overall medical care while at OXYGYM. The internist orders and interprets diagnostic tests as needed.

Board Certified Physiatrist
Our Physiatrist is a Physician of physical and rehabilitative medicine who evaluates each patient’s physical capabilities and limitations. The Physiatrist plays a key role in the development and implementation of each patient’s rehabilitative plan of care.

Physical Therapy
Our Physical Therapists work one-on-one with patients to enhance body movement and function, as well as treating muscle and joint pain. They provide hands on care to increase flexibility and range of motion.

Respiratory Therapy
Our Respiratory Therapist focuses on teaching patients proper breathing techniques and exercises to alleviate the patient’s shortness of breath. The therapist helps the patient to understand and follow their physician’s orders concerning oxygen and bronchodilator therapy.

Exercise Physiology
Our Exercise Physiologists have an in-depth understanding of the physical changes that occur in individuals with chronic lung disease and its effects on physical performance. They recommend endurance exercise programs designed to improve a patient’s cardiovascular status and physical strength.

Social Worker
Our Social Worker addresses the psychosocial needs of patients, provides one-on-one counseling, addresses the emotional issues of their illness, assists in long term planning and provides community resources.

Clinical Coordinator
Our Registered Nurse oversees patient care and the facility’s multi-disciplinary team. She assesses each patient to address individual needs while providing continued oversight for enhancement of the program
